Green Finance in Latin America and the Caribbean, all our knowledge
Today we announce the launch of a new tool to share key experiences and learnings in the development of green financing programs in Latin America and the Caribbean. KLAVE Green Finance is a source of knowledge for those who work in National Development Banks in promoting financing programs for the transition to a green economy.
What content can be found? The objective of KLAVE Green Finance is to condense the key learnings of those who have worked and found solutions to the Ukraine Mobile Number List problems related to the adaptation of the financial sector to the challenges of climate change in Latin America and the Caribbean. We are facing a new and changing sector in which there is hardly any material published in Spanish. In a context like this, we believe that the most necessary thing is to learn from what others do and share experiences about what has worked and what has not. Who provides the information? In this first version, more than 300 key learnings are offered that collect the experience of professionals from more than 10 financial institutions such as the Latin American Association of Financial Institutions for Development (ALIDE) and with numerous development banks, such as FIRA, Bancoldex, Cofide, Mivivienda Fund, Nacional Financiera, Bancolombia, Findeter, Bandesal, Fonafe Foundation or BCIE. Who can participate? KLAVE Green Finance is a tool completely open to the public . Anyone interested in this topic can share their experience on a specific topic or expand on the examples that we provide. All new content will be analyzed by the IDB Capital Markets and Financial Institutions Division team and the Knowledge and Learning Management Department and approved when it is complete, meaningful and useful for other users. How does it work? You can navigate in two ways: either by topics or by key learnings. When you browse by topic you will see a list of related questions and a series of key learnings that answer this question. New Picture (1) By clicking on any of the key learnings, you will be able to see the details of the response and better understand in what context the proposal was formulated, who provided that information, and where more related information can be found. KLAVE Green Finance is a tool to share experiences on how to develop green credit lines in Latin America based on the KLAVE methodology. If you are interested in reading more about this methodology, you can read this article . A presentation webinar was held on April 25. To see the results see this page . ![]() Open knowledge is not just about statistics and data, it also has to do with everyday unwritten knowledge and our experience . “ Know-how ” is one of the most valuable assets and yet it is intangible and very difficult to transmit . This knowledge arises from the heat of our experience, evolves very quickly and has a lot to do with the personal capabilities and values of the people who develop it. At the IDB we are aware of its value and, therefore, we are developing a methodology that allows those who work in the world of Development to share their professional experience . Very briefly, I wanted to explain how KLAVE works , which is what we have called our tool for sharing key learnings on different topics. The most important thing is to define what knowledge we want to transmit , who it is aimed at and what they need to know. For this we need to put all the ideas on the table and define a hierarchy of questions that allows us to understand the big topics we want to address and the specific questions we need to answer. This can be done in many ways, such as in-person or online working groups. There are web applications like Trello that will allow you to collect and organize the ideas of your entire team. When we think of knowledge, we tend to think of paper and articles, but believe me, true knowledge does not always come in the text of an article. In this phase we collect all the texts and read them, and then we do knowledge capture interviews and post-action analysis to understand the context and impact of the learnings we find. We tabulate all the information extracted from the interviews, videos and articles in a single document where we classify and order using the questions that we defined in the first step. This way we get a complete picture of the topic composed of multiple perspectives on each question . This phase involves a true team effort because it requires organizing a large volume of information, and clarifying in which contexts it could be useful. |
